Ebisu (Richmond) ON Monday, March 25, 2013 AT 8:45 PM
This is the first food blog entry for the Nommmcats:)!
We went to the Ebisu in Richmond for Happy Hour (4:30-6:30pm). They have deals on pitchers of beer and other beverages. We wanted to try their 99 cents/each oyster deal and their wings for 49 cents/each.
Kit-cat got a dynamite roll. It was just your typical dynamite roll, nothing out of the ordinary.
Here are the chicken wings (min. 10 purchase) and we chose Teriyaki sauce. Other sauces include Miso, Salt and Pepper, and I believe Honey mustard. We both really liked the chicken wings because they were of proper size and not the small ones you might see at wings nights at bars.
And here are the awaited oysters we wanted to try. We got a total of 8 pieces (min.3 purchase), and for 99cents/each, we did expect it was small. And indeed it was, but they were yummy in their own way. They had added some sauce in them, and we complemented it with the lemon squeezes and added some tobasco sauce.
For myself (sushicat), I wanted to try their Inferno sushi where you get to pick between Saba, Toro, and Hachi and they torch it in front of you (you can ask them to torch/cook it more or not). I only had them lightly torch it and it tasted yummy (btw, had Toro) but I felt I've had better elsewhere. They also had like mint leaves in between the rice that helped with the overall flavor. Also, not sure if it was just today but I had also felt like the rice for this sushi wasn't as compactly made since it fell apart when I was trying to pick the whole sushi with my chopsticks at once.
